TUDCA or NAC with Anavar?

  • Going to be running 25mg of anavar for 4-8 weeks and wanted to know if I should pair it with TUDCA or NAC. I know I’m gonna need one of the two because I ran var with no liver support before at 50mg a day and I know my liver was stressed because my appetite went through the roof and I became a bottomless pit. It’s funny because people actually say orals reduce their appetite. I am quite the opposite. So to avoid this,

    1. Should I pair var with NAC or TUDCA?
    2. How much NAC or TUDCA with 25mg of Anavar?
    3. Do I take them at the same time or at seperate times?
Thanks for your help juicy bros. Also, please don’t tell me I need more than 25mg. 50mg was way more than enough for me.
  • Liver stress significantly reduces appetite. Generally speaking, having a high appetite means the opposite. Additionally, Var is the least harsh oral on your liver aside from Proviron which Idk if we can even count as an ‘oral steroid’. 50 mg is considered a mild/moderate dose and 25 mg is considered mild at the absolute most. You definitely don’t need TUDCA (wouldn’t really hurt I don’t think, but if anything it’ll make your appetite go even higher and it seems like you want to avoid that?), but NAC is good for overall health so I’d go with that regardless of whether or not an oral is in the equation.

    1. No need with those doses, but NAC would be beneficial regardless if Var is in the equation and I’m unsure if TUDCA would really help you given your personal circumstances/what you are seeking from it
    2. Not sure, I take 1800 mg of NAC daily but I am unsure if there is an ‘ideal’ dose. Hopefully somebody else can help you here
    3. Doesn’t matter with the NAC, just take it whenever. I think TUDCA does matter when you take it tho

I agree with you, 50 mg is the absolute most I’ve used and I feel zero need to go higher. I find 30-40 to be the sweet spot personally.

  • To add on to Mr.Carbz’s post…

Two of the biggest indicators of liver stress are lethargy and loss of appetite. Anabolic orals generally impact or stress the liver at moderate to high doses.

However anavar is also prescribed to patients for weight gain/muscle gain in certain circumstances, so the increase in appetite you’re seeing may be from that? Anavar is also a very mild compound compared to other anabolics. But end of the day you know your body best so I’d recommend doing a stair step approach to see what dosage works best for you, so maybe a stair step like this:

    600mg NAC ED
    900mg NAC ED
    1800mg NAC ED
    250mg TUDCA EOD
    250mg TUDCA ED
    500mg TUDCA EOD
    500mg TUDCA ED

The idea is to try and find the sweet spot for your body. Some people don’t need any liver support on anavar, some need just NAC/Milk Thistle, other need 500mg TUDCA everyday. I would experiment with the dosing to find what your body needs.

Personally I think TUDCA is the king of liver support and 250mg ED or 500mg EOD would be ample support for anavar. In terms of taking TUDCA, I would try to take it with dinner, it can have a strong flavor to it when digesting so having some food in your stomach helps. Also don’t take any TUDCA 4-6 hours before consuming alcohol. For NAC I suggest any dosages over 600mg to be split, so 600mg in the AM and 600mg in the PM, for example.

End of the day, you’re the best judge of your body and you should experiment with dosages to dial it in. If you’re looking for an off-the-cuff recommendation, you can’t go wrong with 250-500mg TUDCA.

  • @“kingofcarbz” @“CountSwolio” I’ve done two orals: Anavar and Dbol and they both stimulated my appetite to uncontrollable levels to where I’m eating 2,000-3,000 calories above my TDEE. INSANE. When I’m feeling lethargic I eat more, like way too much. It goes away after cessation of the orals. I will get some NAC and start my first dose of 600mg with 25mg Anavar tonight and see if i can keep my appetite at bay. I will also order TUDCA just in case. Thanks alot guys! Will definitely update you on the results.

  • On 100mg of var for 8+ weeks, I would and do use NAC alone. If your liver is more paper than iron, I’d maybe use 250mg/ed TUDCA and see how that feels.

  • what is a decent brand of nac?

    NOW

  • Most of us aren’t running orals at doses that require any support for the liver and there’s no study done that shows any liver support supplement can protect the body against the (potential) damage caused by oral steroids. Drink water and don’t eat like a total slob, you’ll be fine. Liver support is basically just pissing your money away. Also, most guys never really experience true side effects but rather they freak themselves out with anxiety thinking any little pain or discomfort is “Durr steronz killed muh livers!!1” so don’t be one of those people and you’ll be perfectly fine.

I disagree. Plenty of community members have gotten bloods done with and without liver support and have seen noticeable decreases in ALT/AST enzynme levels.

Additionally, it is well documented and studied phenomenon of fatigue associated with liver stress, here’s an scientific review that has plenty of links in the reference section: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2582971/

A supplement like TUDCA is well studied and the non-taurine conjugate version UDCA is already an FDA approved treatment for liver cirrhosis.

Furthermore, just because you may not experience any liver stress symptoms or issues, does not mean that it applies to everyone. Some people can run tons of gear without any AI and have little to no gyno issues, while others require AI with just test.

I would not be so quick to dismiss the experiences and effects felt by others, because everyone’s body reacts differently. I think it’s healthy to keep an open mind that different substances affect different people differently. Just my 2 cents.

    This cannot be more untrue

  • var is very mild on the liver, you should be worried about your lipids

  • I’m currently running 50mg var eod for 8 weeks. For cycle support I’m doing 1g nac with 500mg turmeric and 250mg tudca eod as well.

For lipid i use garlic extract, high epa fish oil and red yeast rice.

For any 17aa I’d rather be safe than sorry. There are cases where liver injury does happen at 50mg.

  • why 50mg var eOd? never heard of orals being used less than daily due to their short half life
